Dan Masi is a painter and illustrator from Somerville, MA specializing in handcrafted works in various mediums, predominantly paint and ink. Masi holds a BFA in Illustration from the Art Institute of Boston, and for 20 years created display art for Martignetti Liquors, a Brighton, MA neighborhood icon. He has also created many works promoting the likes of balladeers, satirists, carnies, makers of spirituous beverages, performance halls, smoke shops, houses of worship, and books of fact and fancy. Masi draws inspiration from decadent art of the fin de siècle and decadence in general, and his works are steeped in symbolism and dark psychedelia, weaving together elements of mythology and modern anxiety, exploring themes of illusion and ennui.
